While you're here, please take a look at some important updates..... COVID-19Our staff are working directly with Pacific County Emergency Management Systems and Pacific County Health and Human Services to provide accurate, timely information about the COVID-19 pandemic to our community members. We will continue to update our Facebook page, blog and website as new information becomes available. A Resources and Information page is available on our website: https://road2resiliency.weebly.com/covid-19-information-and-resources.html. DEA National Prescription Drug Take-Back Event - April 25thAs of March 18, 2020 at 7:30am, the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Event has not been cancelled due to government restrictions. R2R is working to adhere to social distancing practices by limiting the number of volunteers, encouraging community members not to linger at the drop-off location, and limiting unnecessary contact by asking our community members to dispose of their medications into the drop-off container themselves. The event will take place at Pioneer Grocery in South Bend, Washington on Saturday, April 25, 2020 from 10:00am - 2:00pm. Why is the National Take-Back Day important? This event allows community members to dispose of unused and/or expired prescription medication (including pet medication) properly.
Opioids are a class of drugs commonly used to reduce pain. Many prescription pain revilers prescribed by doctors are opioids, including oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine, morphine, heroin and others. These drugs can be highly addictive. Opioids can negatively affect the reward center in the brain, leading users to need more and more over time. For more information about the National Take-Back Day visit https://takebackday.dea.gov. For question's about R2R's take-back location, please contact Allison O'Rourke, R2R Coordinator at (971) 606-0608 or via email at [email protected].
